These Creative Face Flower Pots (10 pics)

Funny and Creative Flower Pots by: Good!
Kazakhstan-based advertising agency GOOD! was already well known for creating some really fun and inspiring stuff in the past, and now once again they proved to have a really good sense of humor by introducing these face-pots.

However, as cool as they look, the idea isn’t quite new, and the guys from GOOD! don’t deny it.

“We do not claim this is a novelty idea (there are advertising campaigns based on the effect of combining plant and a human face), but we wanted to implement this technique in the form of a specific object. The trick is that we liked that flower pot and a person’s face have a similar shape, which contributes to their visual association, the effect is complete and pretty funny” – says GOOD! on their website.

And like Jeff from CraziestGadgets has pointed out, the concept is simple enough that anyone with a flowerpot, a closeup portrait photo, some scissors and glue can easily replicate this in their own home. With the right combination of plants and facial expressions, the results can be hilariously awesome.

Fantastic Illustrations by Serge Birault (25 pics)

Fantastic Illustrations by Serge Birault
Horror films have been placing ravishing women in close proximity with hideous monsters for over one hundred years, and Serge Birault seems Hell-bent on preserving their perilous plight for time immemorial. Thankfully, his stylish renditions of devilishly distressed damsels are at once respectful of their ancient roots, and subversively modern as well.

With lovingly-distressed proportions and a knowing wink, Mr. Birault’s clever twists on classic horror and pulp themes consistently create playful pinups and portraits that drip with wit and charm. Tentacles must hold a special, clammy place in his heart, but rancid fly-men and lecherous were-squirrels also torment the lovely ladies he paints.

Mixed in with his warm appreciation of these subjects is a thin thread of macabre insanity. yet, while death and danger are never far, they are easily overshadowed by deceptively capable and unbelievably beautiful women that populate Serge’s illustrated fantasies.

Echoism - The Facial Symmetry (12 pics)

Echoism - The Facial Symmetry
"Echoism" plays with the notion of your own identity. What do you look like? What are the things that make you look like you - your identifying features? If you are made symmetrical, do you consider yourself more beautiful, less so, or is it just weird? Or is it you at all? Do you have a best side? What is to be said of left and right brain dominance?

All these photo portraits have one thing in common. They are part of the project “Echoism” that focuses on facial symmetry. The subjects were pictured front to carema. As a part of the study, they were asked not to express emotions. Then each photograph was split into a left and a right section with one side to be horizontally flipped, afterwards pictures were recombined to create two separate and symmetrical identities of the person.

Edible Knit Night Cupcakes (10 pics)

Edible Knit Night Cupcakes -
Just the other day, we admired the original furniture – colorful “noodles” from which you can link and stove, and chair, and rug for children’s games, and everything that you want, but the hands will master. Today we again knitting. But this time, edible.

I am sure that even inveterate sweet tooth never tried to drink tea with, say, the sleeve of the sweater, or a piece of nedovyazannogo scarf … Although in order to enjoy this delicacy prodigies do not necessarily transform a mole. Suffice it to know how to cook well, or have a certain amount of money to buy a pair of famous Knit Night Cupcakes, made no less famous Martha Stewart.

Knit Night Cupcakes comes from Lauren Ulm’s Veganyumyum.com which featured an article on knitting with marzipan and aptly it got a heavy response. Mini sweeter, scarf and yarn balls were made from marzipan and used to decorate the cupcakes. Its really impressive edible craftsmanship and here are the photo tutorials.

Book Origami by Isaac Salazar (15 pics)

Book Origami by Isaac Salazar
We give away old clothes, old furniture, old toys... but old books... they get to stay.  They're on the bookshelves or packed away in our garages.  They represent our formative selves; they announce, "This was once important to me."

A few weeks ago, we visited the library at the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands to see how the students there cleverly re-purposed the library's old books. Artist Isaac Salazar has a different idea for re-purposing; he's created 'Book Origami' that beautifully inspires!
